NOVELTY - A porous carbon material is manufactured by forming precursor containing graphene on the surface of a template which consists of a nanoparticle of an alkaline-earth metal oxide, dissolving template from acid which does not contain fluorine, and separating template and precursor. USE - Manufacture of porous carbon material. ADVANTAGE - The method does not require treatment with hydrofluoric acid nor autoclave treatment with alkali, and is more advantageous in terms of cost as compared with the conventional method for producing a porous carbon material containing graphene, particularly graphene meso-sponge. The time for forming the graphene layer on the template can be shortened as compared with the method by the conventional CVD method using alumina nanoparticles as the template.
