NOVELTY - A catalyst comprises composite catalyst comprising component (A), component (B) and component (C). The component (A) is metal oxide. The component (B) is ZSM-5 molecular sieve. The component (C) is chosen from one or more of molecular sieves with two-dimensional or three-dimensional twelve-membered ring pores. USE - Catalyst for directly converting synthesis gas to produce benzene, toluene and xylene (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The catalyst enables reaction process with high product yield and selectivity. The selectivity of aromatics can reach 4080%, the proportion of benzene, toluene, and xylene in aromatics can reach 5090%, and the selectivity of by-product methane is less than 15%. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for method for directly converting synthesis gas to produce benzene, toluene and xylene using catalyst, which involves using synthesis gas as raw material for reaction, and carrying out conversion reaction on a fixed bed using catalyst at pressure of the synthesis gas of 0.5-10 MPa, preferably 1-8 MPa, temperature of 300-600 degrees C, preferably 350-500 degrees C, space velocity of 300-12000 mL/g cat/hour, preferably 300-7000 mL/g cat/hour. The synthesis gas is hydrogen/carbon monoxide mixed gas. The hydrogen/carbon monoxide ratio is 0.2-3.5, preferably 0.3-2.5.
