NOVELTY - A lubricating oil additive comprises 0.002-1 %mass graphene modified nitrogen-containing surface-modifying agent. USE - Lubricating oil additive used for lubricating oil such as commercially available automotive lubricating oil (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The lubricating oil additive has high repetition rate, excellent dispersibility, high anti-friction performance and reduces the loss of the engine and is prepared by simple process. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) preparation of lubricating oil additive, which involves preparing aqueous solution of graphene oxide, mixing prepared aqueous solution of graphene oxide with organic solvent containing nitrogen-containing surface modifying agent to form two phases, heating at 60-90 degrees C, reacting under vigorous stirring for 3-12 hours; (2) preparation of lubricating oil, which involves adding directly lubricating oil additive to lubricating oil, mixing, and stirring. The mass percentage of prepared lubricant additive in lubricating oil is 0.002-1%; and (3) usage of lubricating oil additive for lubricating oil.
