NOVELTY - Preparation of aluminum(III) hydride/functionalized graphene composite involves mixing aluminum(III) hydride powder and a polar solvent in ratio of 1:40-1:60 at normal temperature, adding 1-100 mg/L functionalized graphene dispersion obtained by ultrasonically dispersing functionalized graphene in a polar solvent at 600 W for 2 hours, and 0.02-0.2 wt.% surfactant, stirring continuously for 30 minutes, adding a nonpolar solvent, filtering, washing the resultant material and drying. The usage amount of functionalized graphene is 0.1-1 wt.% with respect to aluminum(III) hydride. The volume ratio of nonpolar solvent and polar solvent is 1:1-10:1. USE - Preparation of aluminum(III) hydride/functionalized graphene composite used in propellant and explosive (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method enables industrial preparation of aluminum(III) hydride/functionalized graphene composite by simple and convenient process. The functionalized graphene can completely cover the surface of the aluminum(III) hydride even when used at reduced amount. Due to the excellent mechanical properties and chemical stability of graphene, the safety of the aluminum(III) hydride can be effectively improved when used in the propellant and explosive fields without affecting the hydrogen content of aluminum(III) hydride.
