The carbon nanoparticles carbon nanoparticles comprise derivatized carbon nanoparticles or non-derivatized carbon nanoparticles. The silicon-based polymer comprises a silicon-containing compound (I). USE - Composition such as coating composition for coating substrate for forming article (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The composition provides coated article having excellent superhydrophobicity, lyophobicity, chemical resistance, scratch resistance, hardness, tribological property, hydro and aerodynamic property, anti-fouling and antibacterial property, increased wear resistance, UV protection, gas barrier protection, dielectric property, antistatic property, anti-corrosive property, anti-glare property, encapsulating property with high light transmittance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A composition comprises a silicon-based polymer, several carbon nanoparticles (c1) and several carbon nanoparticles (c2). The carbon nanoparticles (c1) and carbon nanoparticles (c2) comprise derivatized carbon nanoparticles or non-derivatized carbon nanoparticles. The silicon-based polymer comprises a silicon-containing compound of formula: SiR1R2-X-SiR2Ri-Xm(I). n,m=100-150000; X=N, NH, or O;and R ,R =H, alkyl, alkoxy, thioalkoxy, aryl, fused ring, alkaryl, heteroaryl, cycloalkyl, aryloxy, thioaryloxy, ether, or halo. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: a coating composition, which comprises (i) the silicon-based polymer, (ii) the carbon nanoparticles, and (iii) the carbon nanoparticles; coating of substrate, which involves (s1) providing a substrate, (s2) contacting the substrate with the composition, or with the coating composition, thereby forming a coating layer on top of the substrate; and a coated substrate, which comprises a substrate, a silicon-based polymer, several carbon nanoparticles (c1) and several carbon nanoparticles (c2), and the silicon-based polymer bond to at least a portion of the substrate. The particles (c1) and (c2) are in contact with the silicon-based polymer, thereby forming a coating layer.
