NOVELTY - Preparing graphene based on ionic liquid crystal exfoliated graphite comprises mixing ionic liquid crystal and graphite, grinding, microwave processing, intercalating ionic liquid crystal into graphite layer to obtain volume expandable graphite-ionic liquid crystal mixture, heating, stirring, ultrasonically processing until the graphite is uniformly dispersed with the ionic liquid crystal, heating, diluting with an organic solvent, ultrasonically processing, centrifuging to precipitate the liquid crystal, filtering black dispersion from the upper layer, and washing the crystal. USE - The method is useful for preparing graphene based on ionic liquid crystal exfoliated graphite (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method: prepares high concentration stable dispersion at micro level without any defects; forms single or multiple high quality graphene layers; is simple, economical and environmentally friendly; provides graphene dispersion liquid, which is stable even after long time storage and has easy subsequent film forming process. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing graphene based on ionic liquid crystal exfoliated graphite comprises (a) mixing ionic liquid crystal and graphite in a mass ratio of 10-1:1, grinding for 0.5-5 hours, microwave processing, intercalating ionic liquid crystal into graphite layer to obtain volume expandable graphite-ionic liquid crystal mixture, (b) heating to 90-150 degrees C, stirring for 1-24 hours, ultrasonically processing until the graphite is uniformly dispersed with the ionic liquid crystal to obtain black thick mixture, (c) heating the viscous mixture to 180-240 degrees C for 0.5-4 hours to obtain a black liquid mixture, (d) diluting with an organic solvent (2-5 times volume) compatible with ionic liquid crystal, ultrasonically processing, allowing to stand for 1-12 hours, centrifuging to precipitate out the liquid crystal precipitate and collecting black dispersion from the upper layer, and (e) filtering the dispersion liquid via micro-porous filter membrane, washing the filtered crystal with deionized liquid, repeatedly washing with organic solvent compatible with ionic liquid crystal for many times, washing away the residual ionic liquid crystal to collect a black product.
