NOVELTY - An alkali metal ion additive is alkali metal element and carbon-containing compound. USE - Alkali metal ion additive used in electrode sheet for alkali metal ion battery (all claimed) and lithium-air secondary battery used in electric vehicle, and digital and energy storage application. ADVANTAGE - The alkali metal ion additive can exist stably in the air and has excellent conductivity, and improves the capacity, energy density, cycle efficiency and service life of the alkali metal ion battery, and improves the conductivity and rate performance of alkali metal ion battery with low dosage of conductive agent. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An alkali metal ion additive is alkali metal element and carbon-containing compound of formula: xMyC.(1-x)Z, where M is alkali metal element, Z is one or more of O, CO3, OH, Cl, F, Br and I, x is 0.5-1 and y is less than 0. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) preparation of the alkali metal ion additive, which involves using alkali metal, carbon source, and liquid reagent; and (2) electrode sheet for alkali metal ion battery, which comprises the alkali metal ion additive.
