▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - Forming an electrode comprises: mechanically coating reactant with graphene; treating the coated reactant with conducting material; mixing the treated and coated reactant with a lithium-based salt suspension to form a homogenous mix; and processing the mix to form active material, where the active material comprises a surface area of less than 10 m2/g. USE - The method is useful for forming an electrode which is used in a lithium ion battery, or forming active material which is used for making slurries for electrode coatings (claimed) or in electric vehicles. ADVANTAGE - The method: provides an active material having a surface area of less than 10 m2/g, preferably 3.1 m2/g or 6.7 m2/g (claimed), and the active material exhibits excellent electrochemical properties; prolongs the viability of the storage of material over time; and minimizes the chance of side reactions (e.g. gassing of the battery or high self-discharge rate over time), thus increasing the viability of the synthesized material and improving the battery cycle life and/or service life. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) a composition (C1) for use in making active materials for a lithium ion battery, comprising (a) a processed, homogenous mix of graphene-treated reactant, (b) a conductive material, and (c) a lithium and phosphate-based salt, where the composition comprises a surface area of less than 10 m2/g; and (2) a composition (C2) used in making slurries for electrode coatings for lithium ion battery, comprising a slurry process state material comprised of (a)-(c) as above per se, where the slurry process state material further comprises an auxiliary conductive material, and the composition comprises a surface area of less than 10 m2/g.
