NOVELTY - Lubricant composition (I) having improved lubricant properties, comprises: a lubricating fluid (A); and nano graphene platelets (B) dispersed in (A), where (B) have a proportion of 0.001-75 wt.%. USE - (I)/(II) is useful in equipment and in manufacturing processes to reduce friction and wear and in many situations, remove waste heat. ADVANTAGE - (II) has a thermal conductivity of greater than 1 (preferably greater than 30) W/m K. (I) has improved lubricant properties and enhanced thermal conductivity. (I) exhibits better combination of friction, wear, and heat transfer properties, thermal stability and molecular film formability as compared with a corresponding lubricant or grease composition containing carbon nanotubes or graphite nanoparticles. (I) is cost-effective and exhibits superior stable viscosity properties. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a lubricant composition (II) with an enhanced thermal conductivity, comprising: a selected neat fluid having a selected thermal conductivity; 0.001-60 wt.% of (B) dispersed into the selected neat fluid; and at least one dispersing agent dissolved or dispersed in the neat fluid.
