▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - Process of recovering sericin from silk degumming waste solution using an electrochemical cell, comprises (a) placing the degumming solution in an electrochemical cell, (b) connecting electrodes to a power supply, (c) applying power of 2-60 volts for 15 minutes to 24 hours, (d) separating sericin and forming lumps of proteins on electrode(s) of opposite charge to that of sericin, and (e) collecting the protein lumps and drying to obtain recovered sericin. USE - The process is used for recovering sericin from silk degumming waste solution using an electrochemical cell. The process is useful for adoption in the industry. ADVANTAGE - The process performs degumming to remove from the silk fibers. The electrochemical cell is maintained at a particular pH such as 1-13, where the electrochemical cell's recovery time of sericin is between 15 minutes and 24 hours. The process is highly efficient, low cost and industrially scalable. The method utilizes electrochemical recovery system further comprising additives chosen from salts, chelating agents, emulsifiers, conducting agents added in to degumming solution for increasing the recovery efficiency and quality of the extracted proteins. The process recovers sericin with preserved qualities and properties and with no or minimum degradation of the protein. In the electrochemical cell, the sericin accumulates at that electrode and accumulated sericin is separated and recovered. The process separates sericin from the degumming liquid with high efficiency and low cost. The electrochemical cell is designed for efficient and low-cost recovery of sericin from the waste solution. The utilized system is economical compared to the conventional separation techniques and further industrially scalable and thus applicable to large batches of degumming solutions.
