NOVELTY - An electrode material comprises a carbon fiber with coaxial stacking morphology of truncated conical tubular graphene layers including a hexagonal carbon layer (10) with larger and smaller ring ends along axial direction. USE - For lithium secondary battery (claimed) used as power supply for information communication equipment such as portable telephone, and notebook personal computer. ADVANTAGE - By using carbon fiber as electrode material for battery, the output characteristics, lifetime performance and stability of performance of battery are excelled. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An electrode material comprises a carbon fiber with coaxial stacking morphology of truncated conical tubular graphene layers including a hexagonal carbon layer (10) with larger and smaller ring ends along axial direction. At least part of the edges of the hexagonal carbon layers is exposed at the large ring end. A portion of the carbon atom of the hexagonal carbon layers (10) are replaced with boron atoms so that a boron atom projection is formed on layer top. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for the following: (1) An electrode material for a lithium secondary battery comprising the carbon fiber; and (2) A lithium secondary battery that includes electrode material comprising carbon fiber.
