NOVELTY - Preparing amino functionalized graphene oxide/azo polymer composite waveguide material comprises e.g. performing Hummers method by diazo coupling reaction of P-nitroanilide-inter-diamine benzene azo chromophore 4-(4-nitro-alkenyl)phenyl-1,3-diamine, adding 4-(4-nitro-alkenyl)phenyl-1,3-diamine and isophorone diisocyanate to dibutyltin dilaurate T-12, performing ultrasonic peeling, reacting graphene oxide dispersion liquid and 2-(7-azo benzotriazole)-N,N,N',N'-tetramethyluronium hexafluorophosphate-(1-(bis(dimethylamino)methylene)-1H-1,2,3-triazolo(4,5-b)pyridinium 3-oxid hexafluorophosphate). USE - The composite waveguide material is useful in development of digital thermo-optic switch having low drive power and fast response speed (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The composite waveguide material has thermo-optic coefficient (dn/dT) more than the ordinary organic material, and 10 times more than the inorganic materials. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing amino functionalized graphene oxide/azo polymer composite waveguide material comprises carrying out Hummers method by diazo coupling reaction of P-nitroanilide mixed with inter-diamine benzene azo chromophore 4-(4-nitro-alkenyl)phenyl-1,3-diamine (NADP), adding 4-(4-nitro-alkenyl)phenyl-1,3-diamine and isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI) in dibutyltin dilaurate T-12 having catalytic property, to obtain azobenzene isocyanate-terminated prepolymer, carrying out ultrasonic peeling of graphite oxide, to obtain graphene oxide dispersion liquid, reacting graphene oxide dispersion liquid with 2-(7-azo benzotriazole)-N,N,N',N'-tetramethyluronium hexafluorophosphate-(1-(bis(dimethylamino)methylene)-1H-1,2,3-triazolo(4,5-b)pyridinium 3-oxide hexafluorophosphate) (HATU) under the action of ethylene diamine, to obtain ethylamine functionalized graphene oxide (EAGO), adding azobenzene isocyanate-terminated prepolymer to ethylamine functionalized graphene oxide, and carrying out vacuum drying. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for amino functionalized graphene oxide/azo polymer composite waveguide material prepared as mentioned above.
