NOVELTY - Slow-release fertilizer composition comprises several fertilizer particles, and reduced-graphene oxide layer arranged on the surface of each particle. USE - The composition is useful in coating various fertilizers (claimed), and treating soil and/or water for growing plants. ADVANTAGE - The fertilizer has improved slow-release properties, provides plants with nutrients and ensures soil quality and crop productivity. The method is simple, feasible and environmentally-friendly. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for method for making a slow release fertilizer composition, involves providing several fertilizer particles, each particle including at least one nutrient in salt form, where the salt is capable of reducing graphene oxide, forming one or more layers of graphene oxide on the fertilizer particles such that each the fertilizer particle is at least partially coated with graphene oxide, and heating the graphene oxide-coated fertilizer particles to form a coating of reduced-graphene oxide on the particles.
