NOVELTY - The logger (11) has a battery interface (1) configured to communicate with a battery (13) and receive data from the battery. A security module is configured to authenticate the received data. A data communication module transmits data to a battery monitor. An organizing module organizes the received data to create organized data, and transmits the organized data to the battery monitor via the communication module. The organizing module creates organized data by summarizing data received from the battery interface. The organizing module performs event-based analysis of the data received from the battery interface and identifies events based on a change in battery parameters. USE - Data logger for remotely monitoring health state data of a population of rechargeable batteries such as single cell and multi-cell rechargeable battery, lithium-ion battery, sodium-ion battery, graphene-based battery, grid storage battery, and industrial power supply that are utilized for supplying energy for a vehicle such as electric automobile (all claimed) such as electric passenger car, lorry, and marine vessel. Can also be used for monitoring a health state of a battery of a home power supply and electrical load-leveling for building or grid-level power. ADVANTAGE - The logger utilizes accurate information on the health/condition of the battery to accurately predict future potential and suitability for a task. The logger provides an additional layer of security and ensures that the battery health statistics are verifiable and not subject to malicious attempts to falsify battery data, reduces battery wastage rate, and extends the lifespan of batteries. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - The battery parameters are selected as battery temperature, battery charge rate, battery discharge rate, charge level of the battery, age of the battery, number of charging cycles of the battery, usage patterns of battery, power, voltage or current delivered or applied to the battery, and faults in the battery.
