▎ 摘  要

NOVELTY - A phthalocyanine compound of formula: MPc/C (I), is new. USE - The compound (I) is used as a catalyst in synthesis of hydrogen peroxide (claimed), and in wastewater treatment and disinfection applications. ADVANTAGE - The compound (I) exhibits negligible catalytic activity. The electrolyzer design works in acidic or neutral conditions, and avoids use of high cost and unstable anion exchange membranes and self-decomposition of hydrogen peroxide alkaline conditions. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A phthalocyanine compound of formula: MPc/C (I), is new. Pc = phthalocyanine; M = a d transition metal chosen from fourth-row, group IIIB to IIB elements coordinated to the phthalocyanine to form the MPc moiety;and C = a sp2-hybridised conductive carbon substrate, which is being electrochemically associated with the MPc moiety. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) (1) a method for synthesizing compound (I), involving, ultrasonically processing over a predetermined period one part by weight MPc with 50-200 pts. wt. carbon in an appropriate solvent and removing the solvent; (2) (2) a method for synthesizing hydrogen peroxide, involving an oxygen reduction reaction catalysed by compound (I); and (3) (3) a two-electrode electrolyzer comprising a cathode for receiving a catalyst for catalyzing an oxygen reduction reaction and a hydrogen oxidation reaction, an anode, a proton-exchange membrane, and a polymer-based solid electrolyte.
