NOVELTY - Providing graphene (106) comprises: providing a transfer material, in which the elastic modulus of the transfer material is more than 4 GPa or the coefficient of thermal expansion of the transfer material is not greater than 8x 10-6 K-1; synthesizing the graphene at a first temperature on a substrate (100); cooling the synthesized graphene from a first temperature to a second temperature, where the transfer material is connected with the graphene during the cooling; and detaching the graphene from the transfer material. USE - The method is useful for providing graphene (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method: can be performed in simple and cost efficient manner; and produces high quality graphene. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a device for providing graphene, comprising apparatus for providing a transfer material, synthesis device for the synthesis of graphene at a first temperature, cooling device for cooling the graphene and a device for detaching of graphene from the transfer material.
