NOVELTY - Polymeric composition comprises a copolymer having two separate recurring units, a first recurring unit containing 1-methyl-3-(4-(4-methyl-benzoyl)-phenyl)-1,3-dihydro-benzoimidazol-2-one containing compound (I) and a second recurring unit containing (4-(4-hydroxy-phenoxy)-phenyl)-phenyl-methanone containing compound (II), where the value of the subscript x is 2-5000 subject to the limitation that the value of the subscript y is 2-5000, the ratio of x:y is (1:99-9.5):91.5, the polymeric composition is semicrystalline having an inherent solution viscosity of greater than 0.3 dL/g, a Tg greater than 150degrees Celsius, a Tc less than 280degrees Celsius, a Tm less than 340degrees Celsius, and an enthalpy of melting endotherm (DeltaHm) greater than 10 J/g and less than 55 J/g and where the semicrystalline copolymer crystallizes from a melt at a cooling rate of 5-200degrees Celsius/minute. USE - The composition is useful in an article of manufacture and for providing advantageous semicrystalline poly(aryl ether ketone) materials for use in additive manufacturing, composite materials, coating, injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, rotational molding and thermoforming. ADVANTAGE - The composition meets the need for new semicrystalline poly(aryl ether ketone) polymers that can be reliably processed at low temperatures, and which retain their technical properties, notably their chemical resistance and mechanical properties (when compared with conventional poly(ether ether ketone) polymer and poly(ether ketone) polymer) and has lower melting temperature, lower crystallization temperature, and higher glass transition temperature. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Polymeric composition comprises a copolymer having two separate recurring units, a first recurring unit containing 1-methyl-3-(4-(4-methyl-benzoyl)-phenyl)-1,3-dihydro-benzoimidazol-2-one containing compound of formula (I) and a second recurring unit containing (4-(4-hydroxy-phenoxy)-phenyl)-phenyl-methanone containing compound of formula (II), where the value of the subscript x is 2-5000 subject to the limitation that the value of the subscript y is 2-5000, the ratio of x:y is (1:99-9.5):91.5, the polymeric composition is semicrystalline having an inherent solution viscosity of greater than 0.3 dL/g, a Tg greater than 150degrees Celsius, a Tc less than 280degrees Celsius, a Tm less than 340degrees Celsius, and an enthalpy of melting endotherm (DeltaHm) greater than 10 J/g and less than 55 J/g and where the semicrystalline copolymer crystallizes from a melt at a cooling rate of 5-200degrees Celsius/minute. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) a material, where the filler accounts for 10-80 wt.%; (2) an article of manufacture comprising the composition and/or the composition (I). (3) a polymeric composition (I) comprising a polymer or copolymer having two separate recurring units, a first recurring unit containing 1-(4-(4-benzoyl-benzoyl)-phenyl)-1, 3-dihydro-benzoimidazol-2-one containing compound of formula (III) and a second recurring unit (4-benzoyl-phenyl)-(4-(4-hydroxy-phenoxy)-phenyl)-methanone containing compound of formula (IV), where the value of the subscript x is 2-5000 subject to the limitation that the value of the subscript y of 0-5000, the ratio of x:y is (1:99-100):0; and the polymeric composition (I) has the inherent solution viscosity of greater than 0.3 dL/g; (4) a composition (II) comprising the composition and/or the composition (I), comprising at least one reinforcing filler and additional ingredient(s), chosen from colorants, pigments, light stabilizers, UV stabilizers, heat stabilizers, antioxidants, acid scavengers, processing aids, nucleating agents, lubricants, flame retardants, smoke-suppressing agents, anti-static agents, anti-blocking agents, conductivity additives, plasticizers, flow modifiers, extenders, metal deactivators and their mixtures; and (5) a method of making the semicrystalline copolymer according involving reacting at least one dihalo-derivative of formula (V) with a mixture of 1,3-dihydro-benzoimidazol-2-one containing compound of formula (VI) and a benzene-1,4-diol containing compound of formula (VII) in a hydrophilic organic solvent in the presence of an alkali metal carbonate or a mixture of alkali metal carbonate at 140-290degrees Celsius, where a is chosen from 1 and 2, in a molar ratio compound (VI): compound (VII) of (9.5:90.5)-(1.0:99), a is chosen as 1, or in a molar ratio compound (VI): compound (VII) of 99:1-25:75, a in the compound (V) structure is chosen as 2, and each X is chosen from a chlorine and fluorine atom.
