NOVELTY - A lithium ion battery repeating unit comprises laminated anode (3), first diaphragm (4) and cathode comprising first cathode (1) and second cathode (2) which are in non-electric contact with each other when charging. The first cathode comprises active material layer (11), conductor layer and insulating layer. The conductor layer comprises inorganic porous conductive material. The insulating layer comprises first inorganic compound. USE - The lithium ion battery repeating unit is used for battery module for automobile (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The lithium ion battery can overcome the safety problems caused by lithium dendrites in existing batteries, and has higher energy density. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) a lithium ion battery comprising lithium ion battery repeating units and second diaphragm arranged between the adjacent repeating units; (2) a method of using lithium ion battery comprising charging second negative electrode until battery capacity reaches Y, and switching to charge the first negative electrode until the battery capacity reaches Y+X; (3) a battery module comprising lithium ion battery; and (4) an automobile comprising battery module.
