NOVELTY - A heavy oil desulfurization method involves preheating the heavy oil to be desulfurized at 40-60 degrees C while performing uninterrupted stirring, and stop heating and allowing to stand for 1-2 hours followed by continuing to stir the heavy oil, adding a catalyst composed of alumina, graphene oxide, activated carbon, attapulgite, active components and auxiliary agents to the pre-heated heavy oil, heating at 200-400 degrees C for the reaction, where environmental pressure is controlled at 1.5-3 Mpa, cooling the heavy oil which is sufficiently subjected to the desulfurization reaction to below 100 degrees C, and separating excess water and gas generated in heavy oil. USE - Method for desulfurization of heavy oil. ADVANTAGE - The method enables improving the efficiency of desulfurization, and quickly and thoroughly removing sulfur in the heavy oil.
