NOVELTY - A carbon-based tackifier comprises graphene oxide modified with modifier comprising amide compound and/or aromatic ester compound. USE - Carbon-based tackifier used in preparation of plugging agent used for plugging oil well (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The carbon-based tackifier has excellent tackifying effect on hydrophobic associative polymer, and provides plugging agent, which can effectively block oil wells in high-temperature and high-salt oilfield environment. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) preparation of the carbon-based tackifier, which involves (1) preparing graphene oxide dispersion, (2) adding modifier and initiator to dispersion, mixing to obtain mixture, and (3) heating mixture to react graphene oxide, modifier and initiator; (2) plugging agent, which is prepared from hydrophobic associative polymer and the carbon-based tackifier; (3) preparation of the plugging agent, which involves preparing carbon-based tackifier dispersion, preparing hydrophobic associative polymer solution, mixing carbon-based tackifier dispersion and hydrophobic associative polymer solution and reacting; and (4) use of the plugging agent in oil well. The plugging agent is mixed with the drilling fluid to form plugging solution. The amount of plugging agent used in plugging solution is 8-12 wt.%.
