NOVELTY - Removing nitrate from water comprises: preparing a graphene loaded nano-iron by adding and mixing 5-10 g of iron sulfate heptahydrate, 2.5-30 g of polyethylene glycol, deoxygenated graphene and 15-30 vol.% of distilled water, then dropwisely adding potassium borohydride solution, continuously stirring for 20-30 minutes, and then filtering; and adding the graphene loaded nano-iron into the water to be treated in water body, then uniformly mixing, and maintaining a constant temperature of 20-30 degrees C and an oscillation frequency of 50-80 revolution per minutes for 30-90 minutes in the water body. USE - The method is useful for removing nitrate from water (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method is capable of rapidly, simply and economically removing nitrate from water with high removal rate of more than 85%. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Removing nitrate from water comprises: preparing a graphene loaded nano-iron by adding and mixing 5-10 g of iron sulfate heptahydrate, 2.5-30 g of polyethylene glycol, deoxygenated graphene and 15-30 vol.% of distilled water, then dropwisely adding 0.8-1.2 mol/l of potassium borohydride solution, continuously stirring for 20-30 minutes, and then filtering; and adding the graphene loaded nano-iron into the water to be treated in a water body, then uniformly mixing, and maintaining a constant temperature of 20-30 degrees C and an oscillation frequency of 50-80 revolution per minutes for 30-90 minutes in the water body, where removal rate of nitrate is more than 85%, and the nitrate concentration in the water is 30-80 mg/l. A ratio of graphene loaded nano-iron and the water to be treated is 1:(100-200).
