NOVELTY - An active air filter device (10) comprises at least one layer of porous conductive material (20), and an energy source for creating current propagated throughout the conductive material. USE - Active air filter device used in rooms air filtering device and air-conditioning system of building and vehicle (all claimed) for destroying bacteria, viruses, toxins, fungi and spores. ADVANTAGE - The active air filter device has excellent antimicrobial properties against a variety of different micro-organisms, and can be effective for short term use.
