NOVELTY - Composite structure comprises column-shaped support which has multiple of pores which are connected to each other on the surface and inside. The light absorber layer is formed on one bottom surface of the support. USE - Composite structure. ADVANTAGE - The composite structure is environmentally friendly, cost effective, and improves high steam generation efficiency. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) a desalination device, which comprises composite structure; and (2) a method for performing desalination, which involves placing composite structure in sea water such that the bottom surface on which the light absorber layer is formed faces upwards and exposing 1 cm above the water surface.
