NOVELTY - The secondary battery has a multi-layer structure-type negative pole piece (10) that sequentially includes a negative electrode current collector (101), a base coating layer (102) and a negative electrode film layer. The negative electrode film layer includes a first negative electrode film layer (103) and a second negative electrode film layer (104). The first negative electrode film layer is located between base coating layer and second negative electrode film layer. The first negative electrode film layer includes a first negative electrode active material. The first negative electrode active material includes a first artificial graphite. The at least a portion of the particles in first artificial graphite are secondary particles. The number ratio set as A of secondary particles in the total number of particles of first negative electrode active material satisfies the equation A greater than or equal to 50 percent. The base coating layer contains a conductive agent and a binder. USE - Secondary battery for battery module used in battery pack and device (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The secondary battery has high energy density, good fast charging performance and cycle performance, and long cycle life. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - The conductive agent contains a conductive carbon material and optionally includes at least one of acetylene black, conductive carbon black, kojen black, carbon nanotubes, carbon fiber and graphene. The binder includes at least one of the modified compound of butadiene styrene rubber (SBR), polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), copolymer of vinylidene fluoride, polystyrene, polyacrylic acid, olytetrafluoroethylene, polyacrylonitrile, polyimide, polyurethane, polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinyl butyral (PVB), polyacrylate, acrylic acid-acrylonitrile copolymer, ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymer, and acrylate-acrylonitrile copolymer.
