NOVELTY - A lithium ion battery cathode material comprises molybdenum disulfide/graphene composite material having a structure of molybdenum disulfide particle that is perpendicular to the graphene surface. USE - Lithium ion battery cathode material. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for the preparation of lithium ion battery cathode material comprising: (A) dissolving molybdenum salt with sulfur in deionized water and stirring to form a first clear solution; weighing and adding the polyvinylpyrrolidone to the clarified first solution, stirring constantly to completely dissolve to obtain a second clear solution; adding an acid, adjusting the pH value of the second clear solution using an acid, adding graphene oxide, and carrying out ultrasound to obtain a uniform mixed solution, where the concentration of molybdenum is 6x 10-3 to 3x 10-1 mol/l, the concentration of the sulfur source is 2x 10-2 to 3 mol/l, and the concentration of polyvinylpyrrolidone is 4x 10-6 to 4x 10-4 mol/l; (B) adding the mixed solution with water in the autoclave lined reaction for 6-24 hours at a certain temperature to give the product; (C) washing the product with deionized water and ethanol, and dried in vacuum to obtain a powder precursor; and (D) carrying out heat treatment of the precursor powder under inert gas for 1-3 hours, and cooling to room temperature to obtain a lithium-ion battery anode material.
