NOVELTY - Purification of acrylamide from a sample comprises (a) extracting acrylamide from the sample by adding polar organic solvent to the sample, (b) adding to the solvent phase comprising the acrylamide a hydrophobic graphene based adsorbent, (c) separating the solvent and the adsorbent to obtain purified solvent phase, and (d) isolating from the purified solvent phase the acrylamide. USE - The method is useful in purification of acrylamide from sample e.g. food items, boiled potato, fried potato, potato chips, fried orange, purple potato, fried eggplant, banana chips and snack cheese samples with complex matrices. ADVANTAGE - The method is quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged and safe.
