NOVELTY - Producing an electrical conductor, comprises (i) providing a strand-like conductor material (2) i.e. carbon, preferably graphene platelets which are formed from graphene monolayers, graphene multilayers and/or carbon nanotubes, (ii) pressing the conductor material with a pressing device (8) to apply a pressure in a pressing direction (5) to the conductor material, where the pressing direction is transverse, perpendicular or longitudinal direction (6) of the conductor material is directed, and the conductor material is pressed in sections with regard to its longitudinal extension, and (iii) applying an electric current during pressing, which flows along the pressing direction through the conductor material, where the current flow causes the conductor material to be heated and at least some of the graphene monolayers, graphene multilayers and/or carbon nanotubes are connected at the atomic level. USE - The method is useful for producing electrical conductor. ADVANTAGE - The method utilizes conductor material having atomically distributed catalysts, made of copper or nickel, by means of which a connection of the graphene monolayers, graphene multilayers and/or carbon nanotubes is catalyzed.
