NOVELTY - Graphene polycarboxylic acid water reducer composition comprises 30-160 pts. wt. graphene oxide dispersion, 80-100 pts. wt. propylene polyoxyethylene ether, 5-15 pts. wt. sodium p-styrene sulfonate, 2.5-7.5 pts. wt. ascorbic acid, 7-9 parts acrylic acid, 25-35 pts. wt. sodium hydroxide solution, and 8.7-27.8 pts. wt. potassium persulfate and/or 1.1-3.5 pts. wt. hydrogen peroxide as oxidation initiator. USE - Used as graphene polycarboxylic acid water reducer composition. ADVANTAGE - The composition: increases the length of the side chain of the polycarboxylic acid water reducer; enhances steric hindrance, and the number of carboxy groups; increases the water reduction rate; reduces cement mixing water, and the adaptability of water reducing agent and cement; increases the water reduction rate to more than 33%; reduces water consumption; and enhance the mechanical properties of cement-based materials. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) preparing the graphene polycarboxylic acid water reducer composition, comprising (i) taking solid graphene oxide and adding water, or taking commercial graphene oxide dispersion product and diluting with water, then after 30 minutes of ultrasonic dispersion to obtain graphene oxide dispersion with mass concentration of 7.4 plus minus 0.2 g/l, taking solid sodium hydroxide and adding water or taking commercial sodium hydroxide solution product and diluting with water to obtain sodium hydroxide solution with concentration of 5 mol/l, (ii) taking graphene oxide dispersion, propylene polyoxyethylene ether, sodium p-styrene sulfonate, ascorbic acid, acrylic acid, sodium hydroxide solution, potassium persulfate and/or hydrogen peroxide as oxidation initiator, (iii) taking 1/3 graphene oxide dispersion and mixing with propylene polyoxyethylene ether, adding sodium p-styrene sulfonate into the reactor, controlling the reaction temperature to 45 degrees C, reacting under stirring conditions of 300 plus minus 50/min for 2 hours, (iv) maintaining the reaction temperature and stirring conditions, and dropping the oxidation initiator, hydrogen peroxide and acrylic acid at uniform rate into the reactor of step (iii), controlling the total dripping time is controlled to 1hour plus minus 10 minutes, and continuously stirring for 2 hours, then adding the remaining 2/3 of the graphene oxide dispersion and continuously stirring for 3 hours, and(v) cooling to room temperature, adding sodium hydroxide solution dropwise to the reactor in the step (iv), adjusting the pH value to 6.8-7.2, uniformly mixing to obtain the graphene polycarboxylic acid water reducer product; and (2) method of using graphene polycarboxylic acid water reducer composition, comprising adding the graphene polycarboxylic acid water reducer when preparing cement-based materials, preparing the pure slurry, where the mixing amount is 0.1-0.2 wt.% of the cement weight, when preparing mortar, where the mixing amount is 0.1-0.3 wt.% of the cement weight or when preparing concrete, and the mixing amount is 0.2-0.5 wt.% of the cement weight.
