NOVELTY - Controlled layer spaced graphene-silicon composite comprises a first graphene layer, a second graphene layer, a column material connecting the second graphene layer, and a third graphene layer, which are made of silicon-containing particles. USE - The composite is useful in lithium secondary battery (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The composite improves capacity of battery. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) producing controlled layer spaced graphene-silicon composite, comprising (a) adding reducing agent into solution containing oxidized graphene to form reduced oxidized graphene, (b) dispersing the reduced oxidized graphene by adding surfactant into solution containing reduced oxidized graphene, (c) adding column material activated at both ends with nitrogen (N2+) into solution containing reduced oxidized graphene to adjust the layer spacing between the reduced oxidized graphenes, and (d) adding silicon precursor into the reduced-grained oxide graphene solution; and (2) lithium secondary battery comprising an anode and a cathode arranged opposite to each other, a separation membrane formed between the anode and the cathode, and an electrolyte, where the anode and/or the cathode made of graphene-silicon composite.
