NOVELTY - Bromonorbornene derivative compound (I) is new. USE - (I) is useful as reactive flame retardant monomer for preparation of flame-retardant dicyclopentadiene material (claimed). ADVANTAGE - (I): can react with dicyclopentadiene to generate flame retardant polydicyclopentadiene material with good flame retardant properties; and ensures the reaction process will not produce phase separation, and thus it avoids the reduction of the mechanical properties of the flame-retardant dicyclopentadiene material. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Bromonorbornene derivative compound of formula (I) is new. R = single bond, -CH2O- or -C(=O)O-; and n = 2 or 3. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: preparation of (I); and flame-retardant polydicyclopentadiene material prepared by carrying out ring-opening metathesis copolymerization of (I) and dicyclopentadiene.
