NOVELTY - Preparing cadmium sulfide-polyacrylonitrile/graphene composite nanofiber comprises preparing S-n-propyl-S'-( alpha -methyl- alpha '-acetic acid)-trithiocarbonate, preparing of cadmium sulfide-S-n-propyl-S'-( alpha -methyl- alpha '-acetic acid)-trithiocarbonate using hydroxy-cadmium sulfide and S-n-propyl-S'-( alpha -methyl- alpha '-acetic acid)-trithiocarbonate, preparing cadmium sulfide-polyacrylonitrile by reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer polymerization using acetonitrile and cadmium sulfide- S-n-propyl-S'-( alpha -methyl- alpha '-acetic acid)-trithiocarbonate, and dissolving graphene and cadmium sulfide-polyacrylonitrile in a ternary mixed solvent of N,N'-dimethylformamide/tetrahydrofuran/acetone to obtain quenching solution, quenching the quenching solution at -40 to -20 degrees C, removing the ternary mixed solvent. USE - The composite nanofiber is useful in photocatalytic hydrogen production reaction (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The fiber: has diameter of 110-300 nm, large specific surface area, and higher hydrogen production rate; and the method: inhibits agglomeration of cadmium sulfide nanoparticles.
