NOVELTY - Preparation of titanium dioxide-graphene-cadmium sulfide composite material involves dissolving graphite oxide in deionized water, ultrasonically dispersing, obtaining graphene oxide dispersion, dissolving surface positively charged titanium dioxide in water, adding graphene oxide dispersion, stirring, washing, dissolving obtained titanium dioxide-graphene oxide composite material in ethanol, adding cadmium nitrate tetrahydrate and sulfur powder, reacting, washing the reaction product with deionized water, centrifuging and drying. USE - Preparation of titanium dioxide-graphene-cadmium sulfide composite material. ADVANTAGE - The method enables economical preparation of nontoxic titanium dioxide-graphene-cadmium sulfide composite material with excellent degradation ability to dye under visible light and photocatalytic efficiency. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparation of titanium dioxide-graphene-cadmium sulfide composite material involves dissolving mesoporous titania in ethanol, adding a silane coupling agent, refluxing at 80 degrees C for 4 hours, washing reaction product with deionized water for 3 times, such that the surface of titanium dioxide is positively charged, dissolving graphite oxide in deionized water, ultrasonically dispersing, obtaining graphene oxide dispersion, dissolving surface positively charged titanium dioxide in water, adding graphene oxide dispersion, stirring for 30 minutes, washing with deionized water for 3 times, obtaining titanium dioxide-graphene oxide composite material, dissolving titanium dioxide-graphene oxide composite material in ethanol, adding cadmium nitrate tetrahydrate and sulfur powder, reacting by irradiating with 300 W xenon lamp for 2 hours, such that graphene oxide is reduced and cadmium sulfide is deposited, washing the reaction product with deionized water, centrifuging and drying. The amount of ethanol and silane coupling agent is 20 mL and 0.4 mL, respectively with respect to 100 mg titanium dioxide. The amount of graphene oxide is 5.26 mg with respect to 100 mg titanium dioxide. The amount of cadmium nitrate tetrahydrate and sulfur powder is 20-100 mg and 12 mg, respectively with respect to 100 mg titanium dioxide.
