NOVELTY - Manufacture of concentrated graphene medium using cellulosic polymer involves exfoliating a graphene source material with a medium comprising an organic solvent at least partially miscible with water and a dispersing agent comprising a cellulosic polymer at least partially soluble in organic solvent, contacting at least a portion of exfoliated graphene medium with a hydrophobic fluid component, and hydrating graphene medium to concentrate exfoliated graphene in hydrophobic fluid component. USE - Manufacture of concentrated graphene medium using cellulosic polymer e.g. graphene ink used in production of polymer nanocomposites and blade coating to form thin films. ADVANTAGE - The process enables rapid, scalable manufacture of concentrated graphene media using low-cost organic solvents and without employing time-inefficient sonication and centrifugation operations.
