NOVELTY - Carbon-sulfur composite film comprises a material whose internal structure is porous carbon coated with elemental sulfur. The carbon is porous and elemental sulfur is distributed in the pores of the carbon. USE - Used as carbon-sulfur composite film. ADVANTAGE - The composite film improves the area capacity and energy density of lithium-sulfur batteries; has high battery products, more stable charge-discharge ratio capacity and longer cycle stability; inhibit sulfur and discharge products from dissolving in the electrolyte; reduces the shuttle effect; improves battery cycle stability and capacity retention rate.The method is simple; realizes that sulfur is covered by carbon while leaving a gap; leaves enough space for the volume change of sulfur during the lithiation and delithiation process to avoid electrode powdering. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) preparing carbon-sulfur composite film comprising (a) mixing the sulfur precursor, carbon precursor, solvent, adhesive and antifoaming agent into a ball mill, ball milling to obtain a slurry for casting, (b) subjecting the slurry prepared in step (a) to vacuum defoaming treatment, casting on a casting machine to form the embryonic membrane, (c) cutting the embryonic membrane produced in step (b) into pieces, performing drying treatment, (d) subjecting the dried embryonic membrane obtained in step (c) to a high-temperature carbonization treatment, (e) soaking the membrane prepared in step (d) in an oxidizing solution, oxidizing negative divalent sulfur into elemental sulfur in situ and (f) washing the membrane prepared in step (e) with deionized water many times and drying to obtain a carbon-sulfur composite film; and (2) preparing lithium-sulfur battery, a sodium-sulfur battery or a zinc-sulfur battery using the carbon-sulfur composite film as a anode material.
