NOVELTY - A polymeric photovoltaic cell (or solar cell) with inverted structure (1) comprises an anode, an anodic buffer layer, an active layer comprising at least one photoactive organic polymer as an electron donor and at least one electron-acceptor organic compound, a cathodic buffer layer (3), and a cathode (2). The photoactive organic polymer is chosen from conjugated polymers comprising an anthradithiophene derivative (I). The organic electron-acceptor compound is chosen from non-fullerene, optionally polymeric compounds such as compounds based on perylene-diimides or naphthalene-diimides and fused aromatic rings, indacenothiophene with electron-poor terminal groups, compounds having an aromatic core capable of symmetrically rotating e.g. derivatives of corannulene or truxenone. USE - Polymeric photovoltaic cell (or solar cell) is used in photovoltaic module (or solar module) (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The polymeric photovoltaic cell (or solar module) has improved power conversion efficiency. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A polymeric photovoltaic cell (or solar cell) with inverted structure comprises an anode, an anodic buffer layer, an active layer comprising at least one photoactive organic polymer as an electron donor and at least one electron-acceptor organic compound, a cathodic buffer layer, and a cathode. The photoactive organic polymer is chosen from conjugated polymers comprising an anthradithiophene derivative of formula (I). The organic electron-acceptor compound is chosen from non-fullerene, optionally polymeric compounds such as compounds based on perylene-diimides or naphthalene-diimides and fused aromatic rings, indacenothiophene with electron-poor terminal groups, compounds having an aromatic core capable of symmetrically rotating e.g. derivatives of corannulene or truxenone. Z' = S, O, or Se; Y' = S or O; R1 = -N-R4R5, R6-O-(CH2-CH2-O)n- polyethylenoxy, or -O-R7; R4 = H, linear or branched 1-20C, preferably 2-10C alkyl, or substituted cycloalkyl; R5 = linear or branched 1-20C, preferably 2-10C alkyl or optionally substituted cycloalkyl; R6 = H, or linear or branched 1-20C, preferably 2-10C alkyl; n = 1-4; R7 = H, or linear or branched 1-30C, preferably 2-24C alkyl; R2,R3 = H, linear or branched 1-20C, preferably 2-10C alkyl, -COR10, -COOR11, or aryl or heteroaryl (both optionally substituted); R10,R11 = linear or branched 1-20C, preferably 2-10C alkyl; Q = N or C-R3;and n = 10-500, preferably 20-300. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for photovoltaic module (or solar module) on a rigid support or on a flexible support, which comprises the at least one polymeric photovoltaic cell (or solar cell) with inverted structure.
