NOVELTY - Preparation of aminated graphene/ferroferric oxide magnetic composite material, involves (i) adding graphene to surfactant deionized water, ultrasonically dispersing to obtain graphene dispersion, (ii) adding ferric chloride hexahydrate and ferrous chloride tetrahydrate to the graphene dispersion, heating, adding sodium hydroxide, reacting, (iii) reducing temperature to room temperature, removing supernatant by magnet adsorption, washing the solid with deionized water, vacuum drying to obtain graphene/ferroferric oxide magnetic composite material. USE - Preparation of aminated graphene/ferroferric oxide magnetic composite material for use in adsorption of gas molecules (all claimed) e.g. formaldehyde. ADVANTAGE - The aminated graphene/ferroferric oxide magnetic composite material is prepared at low cost by a simple method. The aminated graphene/ferroferric oxide magnetic composite material has the functions of physical adsorption and chemical adsorption, and is environmentally-friendly magnetic composite material. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparation of aminated graphene/ferroferric oxide magnetic composite material, involves (i) taking 1-2 pts. wt. graphene, adding to surfactant deionized water, ultrasonically dispersing to obtain graphene dispersion, (ii) adding 6-10 pts. wt. ferric chloride hexahydrate and 3-5 pts. wt. ferrous chloride tetrahydrate to the graphene dispersion, heating at 65-75 degrees C, adding 6-10 pts. wt. sodium hydroxide, reacting for 0.5-1.5 hours, (iii) reducing temperature to room temperature after the reaction is completed, removing supernatant by magnet adsorption, washing the solid with deionized water, vacuum drying to obtain graphene/ferroferric oxide magnetic composite material, (iv) take 2-3 pts. wt. graphene/ferroferric oxide magnetic composite material, adding ethanol and deionized water mixed solution, slowly dripping 3-4 pts. wt. 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane under mechanical stirring and dispersing conditions, reacting at room temperature for 2-8 hours, removing the supernatant by magnet adsorption, isolating solid and vacuum drying.
