NOVELTY - A toothed belt (1) comprises an elastic base component (4) comprising at least one textile layer (5) provided at least on a tooth-shaped power transmission side (3), and an elastomer coating (6). The elastomer coating comprises at least 60 phr polymer base(s) chosen from fully or partially hydrogenated nitrile rubber, acrylate rubber, ethylene acrylate rubber, polyurethane, and urethane acrylate, 3-100 phr at least one filler having a BET specific surface area of at least 50 m2/g, 3-50 phr at least one reactive diluent chosen from acrylate, methacrylate, vinyl ether, and glycidyl ether, and less than 40 phr lubricant. The toothed belt is used in oil environment with a belt back side (2) and the tooth-shaped power transmission side. USE - Toothed belt is used in oil environment for positive force transmission (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The toothed belt has low friction coefficient between the toothed belt surface and belt pulley, thus reducing abrasion and wear, and comprises the elastic coating having excellent sliding property. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for production of the toothed belt, which involves providing a still unvulcanized belt blank having the belt back side and tooth-shaped power transmission side, applying the textile layer on the tooth-shaped power transmission side, and applying the solvent-free elastomer coating on the textile layer, and vulcanizing the belt blank to form an adhesive bond of the elastomer base component, textile layer and elastomer coating.
