NOVELTY - Formation of membrane involves dispersing graphene oxide nanoparticles in a solvent, depositing graphene oxide nanoparticles on support to form graphene oxide membrane, and reducing graphene oxide membrane. USE - Formation of membrane e.g. reduced graphene oxide membrane for separating water from water/oil emulsion (all claimed). Can also be used for medical application e.g. dialysis. ADVANTAGE - The method provides ultrathin membrane having high selectivity, high water flux, excellent internal fouling resistance, scaling resistance, defect resistance, mechanical strength, and chemical stability and tunable pore size, by economical process. The water treatment is carried out efficiently using the membrane. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for separation of water from water/oil emulsion, which involves passing water through reduced graphene oxide membrane.
