NOVELTY - Preparing graphene toughened silicon carbide ceramic material comprises (i) dispersing silicon carbide raw powder, boron carbide and phenolic resin in a container, (ii) placing silicon carbide raw powder, grapheme, polyvinyl alcohol and water in a beaker filled with deionized water, stirring and adding polyvinyl alcohol into graphene, dispersing, stirring and performing ice bath ultrasonic, (iii) dropwise adding graphene slurry into silicon carbide slurry reagent bottle, stirring, performing ice bath ultrasonic, (iv) adding silicon carbide grinding ball into mixed slurry, sealing the mouth of the reagent bottle, placing in a three-dimensional mixer, drying the slurry, grinding and sieving, (v) pressing the powder and molding with a cast steel mold, and (vi) placing the pressed blank into a non-pressure sintering furnace, vacuumizing and filling with nitrogen as protective gas, sintering and cooling with a furnace. USE - The method is useful for preparing graphene toughened silicon carbide ceramic material. ADVANTAGE - The method reduces the graphene sheet layer printing van der Waals force caused by the phenomenon of graphene, improves the graphene of the modified composite material, improves the fracture toughness and hardness of the composite material, ensures the bending strength stability and the prepared graphene toughened silicon carbide ceramic material of fracture toughness can reach 4.87 MPa.m1/2 and the hardness can reach 25.08 HV. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing graphene toughened silicon carbide ceramic material comprises (i) dispersing silicon carbide raw powder, boron carbide and phenolic resin in a container with a ratio of 1:0.007:0.12-0.49 to obtain silicon carbide slurry, (ii) placing silicon carbide raw powder, grapheme, polyvinyl alcohol and water in a beaker filled with deionized water with a ratio of 1:0.01-0.03:0.1:2, stirring and dropwise adding polyvinyl alcohol into graphene, uniformly dispersing, stirring and performing ice bath ultrasonic for 30 minutes to obtain graphene slurry, (iii) dropwise adding graphene slurry into silicon carbide slurry reagent bottle, mixing and stirring, performing ice bath ultrasonic for 30 minutes to obtain a mixed slurry, (iv) adding silicon carbide grinding ball into the mixed slurry, sealing the mouth of the reagent bottle, placing in a three-dimensional mixer, mixing with a high speed for 6-10 hours, separating the ball material, drying the slurry, and fully grinding and sieving by 80 meshes sieve to obtain a powder, (v) pressing the powder and molding with a cast steel mold under the molding pressure of 140-160 MPa, maintaining the pressure for 10-50 seconds to obtain the blank, and (vi) placing the pressed blank into a non-pressure sintering furnace, vacuumizing and filling with nitrogen as protective gas, sintering at a temperature of 1950-2120℃ for 30-90 minutes and cooling with a furnace.
