▎ 摘  要

NOVELTY - Graphene-augmented carbon fiber comprises a graphene film (35) wrapped about a carbon fiber filament. USE - The fiber is useful for aerospace composites. ADVANTAGE - The fiber exhibits increased strength, stiffness and modulus. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) a graphene-augmented bed of carbon fiber, comprising the graphene film wrapped around a rectangular bed (38) of carbon fiber filaments separated from many carbon fiber tows (40); (2) a composite material comprising the graphene-augmented carbon fiber and a matrix material; and (3) increasing strength of the composite material comprising carbon reinforcement fibers and a resin matrix material, comprising wrapping the graphene film about each of the carbon reinforcement fibers in a spiral orientation to form graphene-augmented carbon fibers, combining the resin matrix material with the graphene-augmented carbon fibers to form a prepreg material, and curing the prepreg material to form the composite material.
