NOVELTY - Preparation of poly(methyl methacrylate)/graphene nano-film material comprises adding 600 mg dry graphite oxide powder to 200 mL ethanol, ultrasonically dispersing, adding polyethylene glycol, refluxing under protection of nitrogen gas for 2 hours at 140 degrees C, adding 200 mL 75% hydrazine hydrate aqueous solution and 5 mL N,N-dimethylformamide, reducing for 1.5 hours, suction filtering, repeatedly washing with deionized water and ethanol, and vacuum drying at 60 degrees C for 12 hours to obtain surface functionalized graphene; dispersing in N,N-dimethylformamide solvent, adding 12 times graphene to maleic anhydride grafted poly(methyl methacrylate) under stirring, passing nitrogen at 100 degrees C for 4 hours, suction filtering, washing with ethanol, and drying at 70 degrees C to obtain poly(methyl methacrylate) graft-modified graphene; and mixing 15-25 pts. wt. poly(methyl methacrylate) grafted graphene and 100 poly(methyl methacrylate) with dichloroethane solution, stirring, and spray depositing. USE - The method is used for preparing poly(methyl methacrylate)/graphene nano-film material for formaldehyde detection (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The material has improved sensitivity to formaldehyde.
