NOVELTY - Reversible adhesive material comprises: a polyurethane matrix i.e. formed from the reaction of 55-99 wt.% isocyanate compound with 1-45 wt.% Diels-Alder adduct, or formed from the reaction of 1-15 wt.% Diels Alder adduct and 5-40 wt.% polyol compound with 40-94 wt.% isocyanate compound with respect to the mixture; and 0.01-10 wt.% graphene particles. USE - The material is useful: as packaging recycling in food or pharmaceutical industry; and in an article for recycling packaging (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The material has a reversible adhesion/separation capability, which can be remotely triggered via an energy source and that will facilitate the recycling of multi-layered packaging. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: obtaining (P1) the reversible adhesive material comprising (a) mixing a Diels Alder adduct and graphene particles in powder form or as a dispersion in water, in organic solvents comprising alcohols, ethers, esters, lactones, ketones, and/or pyrrolidones, and optionally a polyol in water, in organic solvents, and/or solvent-free polyols, (b) adding an isocyanate compound to the mixture obtained in the step (a) in water, in organic solvents comprising alcohols linear or cyclic esters, aromatic solvents, linear o cyclic ketones, ethers, and/or aliphatic hydrocarbons, and solvent-free formulations, (c) curing the obtained mixture in the step (b) during a period of 2-7 days at temperatures of 20-50° C; an article for recycling packaging comprising at least one layer of the reversible adhesive material located between at least two layers of a metallic and/or polymeric material, preferably where the polymer comprises polyolefins, bio-based polyolefins, recycled polyolefins, biodegradable polyolefins, polyesters, bio-based polyesters, recycled-polyesters, biodegradable polyesters, vinyl polymers, polyamides, and/or polystyrene, where for structures with more than 3-layers, each of the polymer sheets are stuck to both sides of the reversible adhesive; plitting (P2) the covalent bonds within the reversible adhesive material of the article comprising heating the article at temperature of 90-160° C for 3-30 minutes; and plitting (P3) the covalent bonds within the reversible adhesive material of the article comprising applying electromagnetic radiation at (the article or film) for 30-150 seconds, triggering the photothermal effect imparted by the graphene of the reversible adhesive material.
