NOVELTY - A solid state electrochemical cell comprises an electrolyte layer in a solid or semi-solid state defining a surface (s1) (32), a fixed electrode containing an electroactive material and defining a second surface, and a hybrid capacitor material comprising a metal-organic framework mixed with solid electrolyte particles arranged in at least one of the fixed electrode, an interface layer arranged between the surface (s1) of the electrolyte layer and a surface (s2) (34) of the fixed electrode, or both the fixed electrode and the interface layer. USE - Solid state electrochemical cell e.g. lithium-ion battery (claimed) for consumer product and vehicle e.g. hybrid vehicle and electric vehicle. ADVANTAGE - The electrochemical cell has high power, high density, and excellent stability over lithium, improved safety, and storage capacity. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for manufacture of hybrid capacitor material.
