NOVELTY - Flexible hydrophobic silica aerogels comprises 30-50 pts. wt. deionized water, 6-10 pts. wt. acidic silica sol, 12-20 pts. wt. methyltriethoxysilane, 3-6 pts. wt. of 15mg/ml graphene solution, 0.3-0.5 pts. wt. cetyltrimethylammonium bromide and 8-15 pts. wt. trimethylchlorosilane. USE - Flexible hydrophobic silica aerogels for water purifying system (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The flexible hydrophobic silica aerogels has a hydrophobic property, low density and low heat conductivity, and produced in simple and cost-effective manner, and suitable for industrial production. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for preparing flexible hydrophobic silicone aerogels, which involves: (A) adding deionized water to graphene solution, adding cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, adding acidic silica sol, and adjusting the pH of 3-4; (B) adding methyltriethoxysilane, and heating and stirring at 50 degrees C for 0.5 hours; (C) diluting the ammonia water into the solution, adjusting the pH to 6-7 and placing to obtain gel; (D) adding gel in oven at 50 degrees C for 24 hours and drying at 70 degrees C for 24 hours to obtain hydrophilic silicone airgel; and (E) placing in hydrophilic silicone airgel in a reaction kettle, adding 8-15 pts. wt. trimethylchlorosilane, carrying out gas-solid reaction at 70-90 degrees C for 3-6 hours to obtain final product.
