NOVELTY - A lightweight composite composition (100) comprises greater than or equal to 10 vol.% lightweight particles (102) having average bulk density of 0.001-1.5 g/cc and average particle size of 0.01 mu m-90 mm. USE - A lightweight composite composition used in cementing, concrete, including ready-mix, precast, tilt-up panels, ornamental, decorative, countertops, multi-family residences, commercial buildings, multi-story buildings, do-it-yourself (DIY), home improvement, roof tiles, underlayment, block, brick, mining, shotcrete, gunnite, refractory/monolithics, foundry, three-dimensional (3D) printing, forgings and castings, cultured marble alternatives, roofing, flowable fill, void fill, underground applications, decorative, stucco, plaster, urethane and/or epoxy concrete, composites, or adhesives (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The composition reduces the overall system weight and/or cost and/or imparts other performance. Since the lightweight particles may be less porous, less water or resin demand for handling and formulating may be needed, which can help to decrease weight and improve system performance. Since the size, form, composition, shape, porosity and inherent compressive strength of lightweight particles may result in increased compressive strength of the lightweight composite composition, rigidity is improved. The composition has improved cracking and/or freeze thaw performance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) lightweight composite composition (100) comprising greater than or equal to 10 vol.% lightweight particles (102) having average bulk density of 0.001-1.5 g/cc and average particle size of 0.01 mu m-90 mm; 0-60 vol.% aggregate (104) that is greater than or equal to 1 of coarse aggregate or fine aggregate; 0-20 vol.% greater than or equal to 1 additive or mixture; and 5-40 vol.% binder material (106) in contact with lightweight particles, aggregate, and greater than or equal to 1 of additive or admixture (108) such that lightweight particles, aggregate, and greater than or equal to 1 of additive or admixture are dispersed within the binder material; and (2) manufacturing a lightweight composite composition which involves providing greater than or equal to 10 vol.% lightweight particles; dispersing the lightweight particles within a binder material to form a mixture such that lightweight particles are suspended within the binder material; and setting the mixture for a time to form the lightweight composite composition comprising a compressive strength of greater than or equal to 10 pounds/in2.
