NOVELTY - An electrode active material (100) contains a graphene sheet (110) having a thickness of 0.34-10 nm, and a sheet (120) composed of metallic compound (I), having a thickness of 0.6-10 nm, with both the sheets being laminated. USE - Electrode active material is used for forming anode electrode material used in manufacture of anode of lithium ion secondary battery (all claimed) used in notebook personal computer, mobile telephone, etc. ADVANTAGE - The thinness of the sheets in the conductive active material promotes movement of lithium ions using the three-dimensional space and thereby providing battery having high electron transport, excellent cycle characteristics, flexibility and service life. Since the average voltage of the anode electrode formed using the material can be lowered, the operating voltage of the battery is remarkably increased thereby having a large energy density. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An electrode active material contains a graphene sheet having a thickness of 0.34-10 nm, and a sheet (120) composed of metallic compound of formula: Me'X2 (I), having a thickness of 0.6-10 nm, with both the sheets being laminated. Me'=Mo, Sc, Ti, W, Zr, Ta, or Nb;and X=S, Se or Te. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) manufacture of the electrode active material, which involves mixing an oxidized graphite and the compound (I), and reducing the resulting mixture; (2) anode electrode material, which contains a negative electrode active material comprising the electrode active material; and (3) lithium ion secondary battery, which comprises an anode electrode comprising the anode electrode material, a cathode electrode, and an electrolyte positioned between the electrodes.
