NOVELTY - A chemically-plated graphene comprises graphene and a metal-plated layer provided on the graphene surface. USE - Chemically-plated graphene is used for metal-based composite material (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The chemically-plated graphene has excellent wettability, which is advantageous for dispersal in the metal matrix as a reinforcing phase to improve the mechanical properties of the metal. The chemically-plated graphene has an elongation of 41-56% and tensile strength of 240-260 MPa. The morphology of graphene can be controlled by the interface between oil and water in the emulsion, to obtain chemically-plated graphene with different morphologies.
