NOVELTY - Polyol nanocomposite phase change material comprises polyol phase change materials and hydroxylated carbon nanofillers, where the hydroxylated carbon nanofillers are graphene nanosheets whose surface has been modified by hydroxyl groups, and the hydroxyl energy on the surface of the hydroxylated carbon nanofillers and the hydroxyl group of the polyol phase change material form hydrogen bonds. USE - Polyol nanocomposite phase change material used as heat storage material (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The polyol nanocomposite phase change material has high heat storage energy density and power density. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for preparing a polyol nanocomposite phase change material, which involves: a. preparing graphene nanosheet suspension by deionized water and graphene nanosheet powder, forming stable and uniform suspension by stirring and shaking, collecting top clear liquid as a graphene nanosheet dispersion after the graphene nanosheet suspension is centrifuged; b. using dilute sulfuric acid solution to adjust the pH value of the graphene nanosheet dispersion; c. adding ferrous chloride to the graphene nanosheet dispersion and making to dissolve completely; d. adding the diluted hydrogen peroxide solution to the graphene nanosheet dispersion, hydrogen peroxide, ferrous chloride, and graphene nanosheets undergo a redox reaction to obtain a hydroxylated graphene nanosheet solution; e. filtering hydroxylated graphene nanosheet solution and washing to remove residual iron ions, hydrogen ions and chloride ions in the hydroxylated graphene nanosheet solution; f. drying hydroxylated graphene nanosheet solution to obtain a hydroxylated graphene nanosheet powder, that is, the hydroxylated carbon nanofiller; g. melting and dissolving the polyol powder in absolute ethanol, then adding hydroxylated graphene nanosheet powder to obtain a polyol nanocomposite phase change material mixed solution; h. shaking and stirring the polyol nanocomposite phase change material mixed solution to obtain a uniform solution; and i. drying mixed solution of the polyol nanocomposite phase change material to completely evaporate the absolute ethanol to obtain a product.
