The anode material can cycle more than 200 cycles in the battery with improved stability. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An anode material comprises a carbon material and sodium vanadium phosphate. The carbon material is modified on the surface of the sodium vanadium fluorophosphate. The mass ratio of the carbon material to sodium vanadium fluorophosphate is 5-10:100. The sodium vanadium fluorophosphate is of formula: Na3V2(PO4)2OxF3-x, where is 0-1. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for the preparation of anode material which involves preparing a vanadium-based phosphate comprising mixture of vanadium phosphate (VOPO4) and carbon doped vanadium phosphate (C-VPO4) or C-VPO4, mixing the vanadium-based phosphate, sodium source and fluorine source and sintering. The C-VPO4 comprises VPO4 and carbon material modified on the surface of VPO4. The mass ratio of the carbon material and VPO4 in the carbon doped VPO4 is 5-10:100. The mol ratio of sodium, vanadium, phosphate, oxygen and fluorine is 3: 2: 2: x: (3-x). The preparation of the carbon doped VPO4 involves mixing the vanadium source, reducing agent and water, refluxing to obtain the reducing product, mixing the reducing product with phosphorus source and then refluxing to obtain primary vanadium-based phosphate solution, mixing the primary vanadium-based phosphate solution and carbon source and then drying and sintering.
