USE - Production of reduced graphene oxide for producing reduced graphene electrode used for manufacturing super capacitor devices (all claimed). Uses include but are not limited to clear touch screen, light-guide panel, solar batteries, and semiconductor products. ADVANTAGE - The method is simple, fast, economical and environmentally-friendly, and effectively produces reduced graphene oxide with high quality and excellent electro-catalytic activity, electrical conductivity, charge-discharge activity, capacitance and cyclic stability. The method reduces graphene oxide directly without the need of any additional transfer process and prevents the produced graphene oxide from any stress-induced damage. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Production of reduced graphene oxide, involves (a) oxidizing graphite oxide to graphene oxide by mixing sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid and stirring for 15 minutes to produce a mixed acid solution, (b) pouring the mixed acid solution into graphite flakes and potassium permanganate and magnetically stirring, while adding icy distilled water and few drops of hydrogen peroxide to produce graphene oxide, (c) washing the mixture for several times with water, followed by methanol and keeping it undisturbed for overnight drying to obtain powdered graphene oxide, (d) preparing a homogeneous solution by adding citric acid in distilled water, (e) making a composition by adding the homogeneous solution and graphene oxide into a closed flask, (f) exposing the composition to microwave treatment for a preset time, and (g) filtering out the composition and drying overnight to produce the reduced graphene oxide. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for production of reduced graphene electrode, which involves (i) preparing a homogeneous solution of polyvinylidene fluoride and dimethylformamide by keeping it in hot plate magnetic stirrer at 80 degrees C, (ii) adding the reduced graphene oxide to the homogeneous solution of step (i) in the ratio of 9:1, (iii) subjecting the homogeneous solution of step (ii) to a ultrasonic bath, (iv) magnetic stirring of the ultrasonic composition until dark and viscous, and (v) applying at least one drop of the ultrasonically processed composition per electrode. The electrode has an electrical double-layer capacitance of approximately 195 F/g, electrical charge transfer resistance of approximately 100 Omega , charge-discharge cycle of 5 seconds, capacitance of 165 F/g, and cycle stability of up to 1000 cycles. DESCRIPTION OF DRAWING(S) - The drawing shows a flowchart of the method for producing reduced graphene oxide.
